Startup WeekendThe definition of sound is: mechanical vibrations transmitted through an elastic medium, traveling in air at a speed of approximately 1087 feet (331 meters)per second at sea level. Sounds great, doesn’t it? But sound is so much more than just a bunch of mechanical vibrations. Sound makes us individuals. Sound provides you with information about the world around you. “In a world without sound some of history’s greatest words would not have been heard.” For some people sound stands equal to music. Music is the art which solely relies on sound and is the most powerful form of sound. Sound is also much more. Imagine the importance of the crying of a newborn baby for his parents and what does sound mean for someone who is not able to hear anymore? We made sure there was enough space for designers to do their magic, business people to work out models and creators making awesome stuff. Bringing sound enthusiasts together with businessmen, creators and designers, we saw the next best music or sound startup coming together this weekend! And of course, we enjoyed some great music during this weekend. Startup Weekend Groningen Startup Weekend was a 54-hour event where developers, creators, designers, marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts came together to share ideas, form teams, build products, and launch startups! Ideas Beginning with open mic pitches on Friday, attendees were encouraged to bring their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. Over Saturday and Sunday teams designed and developed business plans while constantly streamlining their startup vision. On Sunday evening teams demonstrated their prototypes, listened to judges’ feedback and won prizes. Startup Weekends are specifically designed for entrepreneurs with a brand new idea, looking for a co-founder, or those who want to learn new skills. We also welcome anyone looking to test the entrepreneurial waters.
